Best one-stop bridal shops

Bridezillas are finally tired of eclipsing their careers (not to mention their social lives) with paper swatches and fittings. Fortunately, new one-stop shops are making it possible to plan a whole wedding in a morning, leaving the dress for the afternoon. Because your wedding may be your big day, but it shouldn’t be your whole life.

Multitaskers, you’ve hit the mother lode: The two clusters of bridal shops at 1850 and 2250 Union Street have it all. Refreshing Bella Bridesmaid carries exclusive dresses from Queue, Nick Brown Photography takes care of the snaps, Nanskin will help you put your best face forward, A Day in May Design presses custom invitations, and the infamous Champagne & Lace has lingerie, ahem, covered. Both at 2250 Union St.: Nick Brown: 415-441-6007, nickbrownphotography.com; Bella Bridesmaid: 415-931-5492, bellabridesmaid.com. All at 1850 Union St.: Nanskin: 415-563-4024, nanskin.com; A Day in May: 415-614-0005, adayinmay.com; Champagne & Lace: 415-776-6900

Chic boutique And Something Blue comes up with clever themes, like the Flood Mansion City Sophisticate, Marin Backyard Romantic, and Destination Celebration, to help brides envisage the perfect wedding, from the invite to the honeymoon night. Book an appointment with owner Lisa McNichol, who will steer you and your gals through the invita-tions, shower details, accessories, and more than 200 bridesmaid dresses. Added bonus: McNichol’s event-planning past has equipped her with lots of local tips and recommendations. 2999½ Washington St., 415-409-0217, shopandsomethingblue.com

The proprietors of Flair may be the new kids in town, but they’re seasoned vets when it comes to nuptial know-how (they were voted Boston magazine’s Best of Boston two years running). Flowers in their hair, the East Coast natives hiked up their tulle and opened this gem of a shop on Polk Street in February. Specializing in bridal and bridesmaid dresses, Flair sells a dizzying selection of colors, cuts, and textures, and will soon carry matching shoes, bags, jewelry, and wraps. You can even dress the flower girl here. 2435 Polk St., 415-440-2636, flairbridesmaid.com
